{"id":426,"date":"2020-12-02T00:39:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T00:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kwls.net\/?p=426"},"modified":"2023-12-02T00:55:40","modified_gmt":"2023-12-02T00:55:40","slug":"chimichurri-steak-pasta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kwls.net\/index.php\/2020\/12\/02\/chimichurri-steak-pasta\/","title":{"rendered":"Chimichurri Steak Pasta"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chimichurri Steak Pasta<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Credit: Brandon Coomes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Firehouse Servings: 4<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chimichurri Sauce:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bd cup flat leaf parsley<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bd teaspoons salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bd tablespoons red wine vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be teaspoon dried oregano<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc cup olive oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 large garlic clove minced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8 oz. of creme fraiche (optionally &#8211; mexican crema)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grilled Zucchini &amp; Steak:<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>3 medium-large zucchini or 2 large zucchini<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1.25-1.5 pound flank steak<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bc teaspoon salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon black pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 \u00bd tablespoon olive oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 lb bow tie pasta<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Directions:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook a package of pasta according to the package directions. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Except for the creme fraiche, add all the chimichurri ingredients to a food processor or blender and run on medium speed for about 1 minute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour the chimichurri mixture into a medium-size mixing bowl and now mix in the cr\u00e8me Fraiche until the two are thoroughly blended together.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brush the zucchini slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brush the flank steak lightly with oil and season with salt and pepper as well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grill the steak and zucchini for 8-10 minutes, turning every 2 or 3 minutes, or until the steak is cooked to the desired level of doneness (130-140 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 140-150 for medium, and 150-160 for medium-well) and the zucchini is getting tender and has developed grill marks, but isn&#8217;t mushy yet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let the steak rest for 3-5 minutes after removing from the grill.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toss the chimichurri cream with the pasta. Slice the zucchini in 1-1.5 inch cross-sections and cut the steak against\/across the grain in \u00bd inch slices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toss the zucchini with the pasta until evenly distributed.
